Coming soon and in need of ideas

Posted Mar 7 2011, 3:58 pm

Hello All~

Well, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge into the blog-o-sphere, not in small part because of the encouraging words by some of my fellow bloggin’ writer friends.  (Encouraging words?  Okay, maybe it was more like nagging…….)  In any event, I plan to “officially” launch the first Monday in April, but between then and now, I kinda need your help.

With this blog, my hope is to marry my day job of being a fitness instructor with my passion for writing to address various health issues we all might face.  I plan to have guest bloggers who’ll talk about everything from how pets improve the quality of your life to the pros and cons of deep tissue massage.  But don’t despair!  We’ll also be talking a bunch about writing.  What inspires us, how we plot/build character, where we get our ideas.  Grammar.  (Oh!  Shudder!)

What I need from y’all in the mean time are ideas; what you’d like to know about with respect to food choices, exercising, etc.  I mean, what is the best artificial sweetener out there anyway?  Can you really prevent that inevitable cold?  (Yes, you can!)  I also hope to get a number of debut authors on board to promote their newly released and/or upcoming books as well as experienced writers who can help us navigate the stormy waters of first sales, the editing process and how to keep sane in this crazy profession we all love.

So, shout out those ideas, kay?  And if anyone is interested in guest blogging, don’t be shy.  To start, I only plan to post twice a week; on Monday and Thursday.

Have a rockin’ week!

L.

Cool, Lynda!! I get to be the first commenter on your shiny new blog!!

Writing about healthy living for the writer is a great idea–it’s not naturally the healthiest of professions (and I say this with my posterior going numb from sitting at the keyboard for several hours straight this morning!)

Any ideas about how to work fitness into a life that’s already overstressed and overcrowded (trying to juggle a day job AND writing!!) would be much appreciated.

Good luck with the blog! I see Liz Bemis designed it for you–she did a spectacular job, as always!!

Welcome to the blogosphere, Lynda! 😀

  3. Hi Lynda-Love!
What a super-cool idea for a new blog. I desperately need you and your writerly fitness advice–even though I, too, used to be a fitness person (of much lower rank). I will watch you grow and fledge and if I can ever help or contribute I would be happy to do so. Congrats on taking this plunge–one I’m a bit frightened to make. Woo hoo!
